Getting Started

Free vs Pro: what you get and when to upgrade

Free lets you try mckp.live. Pro lets you use it.

That is the honest version. The longer version is below, but if you only read one line, that is the one.

What you get on Free

The Free plan is a full editor. You can:

  • Build up to three projects.

  • Pick any device.

  • Drop in your own screen.

  • Set lighting, background, and the look of the scene.

  • Try every trigger and every live behavior.

  • Preview the scene exactly how it will look in production.

You will see the whole product working. Nothing is locked behind a paywall inside the editor itself — every device, every animation, every detail is yours to play with.

What you cannot do on Free:

  • Embed scenes on your site. No embed code. The mockup stays inside mckp.live.

  • Export to video. No MP4, no GIF, no animated loop you can post anywhere.

  • Export images. No PNG, no still frame.

  • Go past three projects. Once you have three, you swap or delete to make room.

So Free is the test drive. You build, you preview, you decide. Then you upgrade or you walk away.

What you get on Pro

Pro turns the editor into a tool you can actually ship with:

  • Unlimited embeds. Put your scenes on landing pages, portfolios, docs, Notion, Webflow — anywhere a script tag fits.

  • Video export. Download your scene as a video file. Use it on social, in emails, in pitch decks.

  • Image export. Download high-resolution stills.

  • Unlimited projects. Build as many as you want and keep them all.

Pro is what makes mckp.live useful outside mckp.live.

When to upgrade

Three moments to watch for. If any of these sounds like you, it is time:

You want the mockup on your site. This is the big one. The whole reason most people show up is to put a moving mockup on a landing page or portfolio. That needs an embed. Embeds are Pro.

You want to post the mockup somewhere social. Twitter, LinkedIn, Product Hunt, an email newsletter. None of those accept a live embed — they need a video or an image. Exports are Pro.

You hit the three-project wall. If you are juggling more than three real projects, swap-and-delete gets old fast. Unlimited projects are Pro.

If none of those apply yet, stay on Free. We are not in a hurry.

Common questions

What happens to my projects if I downgrade?

Your projects stay. If you have more than three, you keep them but cannot edit the extras until you bring the count down or upgrade again.

Do my embeds break if my subscription lapses?

No, they keep working — but a small mckp.live watermark banner appears on the embed. Renew Pro and the banner disappears.

Is there a team plan?

Not yet. For now, Pro is per-user.

What if I only need one export, just once?

Upgrade for a month, export, downgrade. We will not stop you.

The shortest way to find out which plan is right for you is to start on Free. Build something. If you want it on your site, on social, or in your inbox — upgrade. If not, the editor is yours to play with as long as you like.
